Plant potting workshop for children

Wednesday 31 May at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

£9

A seed tray full of pea sproutsThis workshop is about the life of a pea plant and how they grow from seed to full bloom! We will learn about germination and different parts of the plant (roots, shoots, leaves and stems) and what plants need to live (water, soil and sunshine).

The children will be given sweet pea seeds and pea seeds to take home in pots. These will germinate indoors. To highlight how special these plants are, the children will be able to decorate a cover for their plant’s pot/tube (using stickers, crayons etc). We know that talking about plants is just as important as being able to identify them, so after sowing our seeds, we’ll walk around the garden to look at, smell and feel the different plants!

The workshop is aimed at children aged 4 to 10 years old.
The workshop will last between 40 minutes to 1 hour.

Children must be accompanied by a parent/adult carer at all times.

Session times are :
1:00pm
