Four-day workshop: Traditional Botanical Painting

Intricate botanical illustration of rockrose.This four-day course running during April and May over four Sundays will be linked with themed workshops, covering an introduction to the different stages of botanical painting and drawing. Beginners will be welcome to work with more advanced students.

Sharpen up your pencils to improve your drawing skills, working from observation of different plant specimens. Explore different watercolour techniques of wet and dry brushwork and bring drawing and painting skills together, working towards the finished artwork.

Tutor Jenny Brooks Dip.AD, ATC.

Materials required: Please bring a selection of good quality pencils from 2H to 2B, an A3 pad of cartridge paper and a board to rest on for the first session of drawing. The list of painting materials will be discussed during the first session, but please bring paints if already available.
