Plant Potting Workshop for Children
Friday 28 October 2022 at 1:30 pm to 3:40 pm
This workshop is about the life of a flower and how they grow from bulbs to full bloom! We will learn about different parts of the plant (roots, shoots, leaves and stems) and what plants need to live, (water, soil and sunshine). The children will be able to choose two bulbs to take home in a pot. These should flower indoors. To highlight how special these bulbs are, the children will be able to decorate a cover for their plant’s pot (using stickers, crayons etc). We know that talking about plants is just as important as being able to identify them, so after potting up our daffodils we’ll walk around the garden to look at, smell and feel the different plants!
Children must be accompanied by an adult during the workshop. The session will last approximately 40 minutes. Please bring warm clothing as the workshop will take place in the marquee and outdoors in the garden.
Suggested ages are 3-8 years old. All ages are however welcome at either of the sessions.
There are two sessions each starting at:
- 1:30pm
- 3pm
Cost: Adult £9 (includes adult entry to the garden).
Child £7
