Bee and Pollination Festival

Common carder bee on Verbena bonariensis.The Bee and Pollination Festival is back again! Immerse yourself in this fascinating world; beekeepers of Bristol showcase the work of their industrious friends with their annual honey show in the marquee, there will be talks throughout the weekend on subjects as varied as Asian Hornets with Sam Marco Versteeg and Government Inspector Annabelle Lewis, bee conservation in the worlds poorest communities with Monica Barlow of Bees for Development, and how to be a beekeeper with Jill O’Regan of Bristol Beekeepers. Visitors can also go on a bee safari around the Garden with Jean Vernon, see a live hive demonstration, buy plants from visiting nurseries, make a traditional ‘skep’, guided tours of the Botanic Garden, poetry tours with the Isambards, willow weaving, and much more.

Admission: £10 (or £11 with gift aid donation), University of Bristol staff and retired staff £5 :  free to under 18s, Friends of the Garden and alumni and ALL students, and to essential carers of visitors.

Tickets are valid for one festival day, and can be purchased in advance on the online shop, or on the gate.

Please note, on Sunday 25th August there will be road closures in place for the Massive Attack concert on the Downs. This will not effect the Bee and Pollination Festival; there will be a series of AA signs directing Bee and Pollination Festival visitors to the Botanic Garden.
