New plant species are discovered all the time. But it is not typical for plants to be discovered in areas that have been meticulously surveyed. Last year, however, a thoroughly unusual species was found on an island in the Kagoshima prefecture, Japan [1]. (more…)

  • University of Bristol staff - £5 (or £5.50 with Gift Aid)

  • Children under 18 - Free
  • Students - Free
  • Essential carer of disabled visitor - Free

Dogs are not permitted in the Botanic Garden, with the exception of assistance dogs.

Main Garden open 10:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Sunday

Glasshouses open 10:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Sunday

Refreshments open 11:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Sunday
